Orebrough City - Sinnoh's Strength

"Whoa..." He muttered, eyeing Orebrough City as Pidgeotto came for a landing...

Not only it was a town, but it had a huge museum and a huge mining area...



As soon as he landed his trainer on the floor, he landed on Gold's shoulder...



"This is where trainers go to get thier first badge, huh?" He mused. "Looks pretty neat... I wonder what the Gym Leader uses..."

"Well, you'll need to see for yourself!" At that point, Cynthia and Togekiss landed by Gold, Cynthia recalling Togekiss the moment they touched down. "If I know Roark, he's off in the mines right now; you won't find him at the Gym."

"Oh... okay..." He recalled his Pidgeotto and tossed a Poke-ball...

*BAM!!!*

"Come on... let's meet up with Orebrough's Gym leader..." He said, following Cynthia,

Once they reached the mines, Cynthia glanced down into the caves. "Roark! Are you down there?" she called.

At first, she got no response... but eventually, they could hear the cry of a Pokémon...



...namely, an Onix, who was launched out of the cave, slamming into the ground before Cynthia and Gold; knocked out cold.



"...yep, he's down there, alright." Cynthia nodded, as she glanced at Gold. "Don't go down there; he'll come up soon."

"Onix, huh...?" He mused. That means.... yep, he's already cooking up an idea...

"Well..." Cynthia giggled. "...that's actually a wild Onix; they tend to attack the miners from time to time."

"Nothing I can't handle, though!" At that point, someone walked up through the caves, eventually revealing...



"Cynthia! Where have you been? You didn't show up yesterday, and you got me worried!"

"Eh, job-related business got in the way..." Cynthia chuckled, before patting Gold's back. "Anyway, someone's here to see you!"

Blinking, the miner eyed Gold curiously. "...aah, a Pokémon Trainer!"

He rubbed the back of his head, grinning. "Yeah... my name is Gold from Johto... I'm visiting to see what's this place is like and also, challenge the Gym Leaders to see what their strength are..."

He snickered at the part of visiting...

"Johto..." Roark hummed, before chuckling. "You're pretty lucky, then; I heard that they shut off transport between the regions because of the strange Pokémon attacks. I swear, I thought I could see some like that flying over the city a few times!"

"...you don't say..." Cynthia said with a nervous chuckle.

@roark@

"Well, you're here for my badge, so let's not waste any time." Roark nodded, as he walked out of the mines, heading towards the Gym. "I'll be waiting at the Gym, so come see me when you're ready!" Then, he ran off.

"...he's certainly enthusiastic..." Cynthia giggled. "Just like his father..."

He glanced at Cynthia. "So... does he use Rock-types?"

"That would be his field of expertise, yes..." Cynthia nodded. "Got any strong Water or Grass-types on you?"

He took out his Poke-dex, pressed a few buttons and put it away. "Grass, not yet... Water... I've got one and a new Water-type I wanna train..."

He rushed towards the Gym. "Let's go, Typhlosion!"

"TYYYYYYYYYPH!!!!" And he chased after his trainer...

Chuckling, Cynthia ran after Gold as well. Might as well see how he fares against Roark. she thought.

He pushed the door open and stepped inside... "Hello? Roark?"

"Typhlos?"

"Aah, I see that you're ready!" Standing in front of an arena was Roark, who kept his eyes on Gold with a smirk.

"Last time I checked, Roark had two teams..." Cynthia hummed, as she walked in after Gold. "One for beginners, and one for more experienced trainers. If you're training your new Pokémon, I recommend the former."

"Hmm..." He had two Pokemon as back-ups to help Mudkip... and he taught Mudkip a new move to help his strength...

He'll shrugged. "Yeah, I'm ready! How about you?"

"What do you think?" Roark laughed, jerking his thumb at himself. "My Pokémon are the toughest in all of Sinnoh! Don't expect me to hold back, even for a single second!"

"Don't forget to ask him which kind of trainer he is!" Cynthia called, as she sat down, watching Roark from the sidelines.

"...oh, yes, right..." Roark nodded, as he cleared his throat. "...well, what kind of Pokémon Trainer are you? A novice, or a veteran?"

"Veteran," He replied.

"Alright..." Roark nodded, as he dug through his Poké Balls. "...you're sure?"

If Gold would glance towards Cynthia, he'd see that she was drawing her hand across her neck, as if to say that uttering that word was a bad idea.

"Well, I have a lot of experience... but just because I have strong Pokemon like Typhlosion by my side doesn't mean I should train new Pokemon...."

He unclipped a Poke-ball. "I have a Pokemon with me that needs training at the Begginer stage..."

Nodding, Roark tossed a Poké Ball up and down in the air. "So, you'll be fighting against the novice team, then? I'm pretty sure that throwing my strongest against the Pokémon in need of training is nothing short of overblown."
