Mirror Coat: When damaged by a Special/Mental attack, roll a dice, double the damage as a Psychic type. For example, when you received 10 damage, you roll a 20 sided dice against the foe. The attack seemed just like a cannon, rocketing Roserade several feet away from Wartortle. It seemed like sheer luck that she didn't just flat-out keel over there and then. "Rade..."

Darn... she can't take much of that. And she's the only one who can land a super effective hit against Wartortle... Gritting her teeth, Cynthia was quick to recall Roserade, before taking out a different Poké Ball. This is gonna be a risky move... "Go, Garchomp!" she called, as she threw the Poké Ball...

"Garchomp!" With a blue aura suddenly surrounding him, Garchomp rocketed right at the turtle, with intent on ramming it at full speed.

With a grin, as he prepared to land, Garchomp viciously stomped his feet into the ground, creating a shockwave that tore the ground around him up.

Nodding, Garchomp rushed right at Wartortle again, once more surrounded by a blue aura.

The moment the field faded, Garchomp again slammed Wartortle right onto a tree.

Enough is enough!

Indeed, for after Wartortle launched off the base of the tree, he ducked into his shell. Water exploded out of the holes as the shell span toward Garchomp. And since Garchomp is both ground and dragon, the damage is normal.

One of the water jets were too quick for Garchomp to properly dodge, though as he was splashed by that one, he got away from the other three.

"Good, good! Now we're making progress!" Cynthia said, though she seemed more or less cheerful, despite the blow Garchomp took. "Alright, Garchomp, use Brick Break!"

"Chomp!" As the fins on its arms began glowing red, Garchomp rushed at Wartortle again, swiping his arms at the turtle.

Barely, the turtle ducked in his shell, but the fierce strikes against its hard layer rattled the creature inside.

He really meant enough was enough. Pokémon wasn't just about picking the right attack then throwing them at them. It's about working together with your Pokémon and bringing out their true potiential. Garchomps maybe powerful, but being dragons that they are, unless they can fly, they're terrible on slippery surfaces.

So....

Leaping up, Wartortle unleashed a Ice Beam...except this time it wasn't at his opponent, but focused on the floor. Now the entire area was coated in slippery ice.

Pokémon Battles was also about using moves in different and resourceful ways.

Icy Field: This can be emitted from powerful ice attacks, if the Mental or Power is 15 or over. This increases ice types' Speed by 3 but lowers Pokémon Speed, except water, fire, and flying types, by 3. This last for three turns.


Enviornment Change: Pokémon attacks can also be used in different ways, like making a grassy field burn with fire attacks, or electrocuting waters with electric attacks, or even combine with other powers. This can only be done if the Mental or Power is 15 or over, and can only be done once per Pokémon. "An ice field?" Cynthia uttered with some surprise, before she snapped her fingers. "Oh, I see! The ice makes it harder for Pokémon to walk on it, so they slip up. Not bad; just what one would expect from the former champ of Kanto." Then, she smiled. "But you can't keep acting so serious throughout the entire match, bigshot. Where's the fun in battling if you don't have fun with it?" Then, she pointed at Wartortle. "Garchomp, use Giga Impact!"

"Gar!" Then, Garchomp leapt into the air, as his body was surrounded by orange streaks. Then, a purple aura surrounded the dragon, before he rocketed right at the turtle.

With the crippling disadvantage against ice, and the inability to evade the attack after the Giga Impact, Garchomp took the blow head-on, though by some miracle, he was still standing. "Gar..."

"Good going, Garchomp. I promise you; once we've gotten you guys healed, I'll get all of you a real treat." Cynthia said with a smile, before looking at Wartortle. "Alright, use Giga Impact one more time!"

Nodding, Garchomp rushed right at Wartortle once more, a purple aura and orange streaks surrounding him, as he attempted to ram the turtle with one last attack.

@darkred@ No matter, for the water Pokemon fought bravely, against Cynithia's top Pokemon, and wore it down greatly. So, recalling his Pokemon in the poke-ball...

...Red's hair began to rise up, and his glowing eyes dimmed.

Quickly, Red tossed another poke-ball...

Still recovering from the Giga Impact, Garchomp took the blow head-on, sending him rocketing right into a tree, before he collapsed, utterly knocked out.

Approaching her top Pokémon, Cynthia recalled him back into his Poké Ball. "You did well." she said, before taking out another ball. "Next up; Togekiss!" Then, she threw the ball up in the air, letting out her next Pokémon.

"Kiss~!" With a cheerful chirp, Togekiss put her wings together, as a blue sphere formed between them. Then, the Fighting-type move was fired right at Snorlax.

His body loosened, but felt a little weak around the musciles. His spirit on the other hand felt stronger before the blast slammed and splashed around him. Despite the bonus Snorlax had, he still felt the pain from the blast.

Red had to wonder...did Misty used to have a Togepi? He forgotten; perhaps a side-effect of this alter ego. If she did, he wondered if she would love to see it evolved into this creature.

Noting that Red's eyes were growing dimmer, Cynthia blinked. Is he... she thought, before looking at Togekiss. "Use Water Pulse!"

Chirping happily again, Togekiss put her wings together again, as light-blue orbs appeared between them. Then, a pulse of water shot out at Snorlax.
