I decided that we really needed a reference for Light types, in terms of strengths and weaknesses, and AnT and I decided to flesh it out properly instead of trying to find the old chart buried somewhere in the archives. And I made this table. So, yeah. We've got a proper reference for Light types now.

What do you think, AnT? AC?

I think we only need A_C's opinion on the matter, AnT and I devised this, after all (I simply made the table as well), mostly by going through each type and asking "how does light affect it, and vice-versa?" For example, plants absorb light, water and steel reflect light, etc. The stuff involving Ghost, Dark and Shadow types were already established.

Dark doesn't make as much sense if you consider that in Japan, it's called 'evil type'. XD
Though, to be frank, Grass being super-effective against Light is mostly there to balance things out, without it, Light would have, defensively, only 1 weakness, 2 resistances, and an immunity.

I still think having Grass-types strong against Light is odd...

Yeah, it is kinda odd, but there have been weirder match-ups, I believe.

Um... None that comes to mind at the moment, aside from ghost types resisting bugs (though I did read a theory about that once involving bugs feeding off corpses, which don't feel a thing, and neither do ghosts). But still, not all type matchups make perfect sense. In this case, though, I can let it slide since it balances things out nicely.

Nice little table, though if I did put it up it wouldn't have that. Anyway, before the shadow-type was getting 'popular', the Light-type weakness/resistance was established as; Grinning, Red pointed at the poke-dex that had Gatomon and Angewomon's info. "I was reading up on the Light attribute. There's no such thing for Pokemon. It's super effective against ghost and dark types, resistant to dragon, fire, and ghosts attack, but weak against dark, and not very effective against light, water, steel, and rock."

Doesn't say that it's weak against Grass-type attacks...
But, Rock? That's a new one...

You let it slide? Your not a Mod of this place. Well, personally. If it was up to me, of course (it obviously isn't). Bad wording. XD So you DID find it? Huh. Perhaps I should modify the table to accommodate. That being said, a couple of them seem rather arbitrary, such as resistance to dragons (doesn't make sense, methinks) and not being effective against rocks (by that logic, it wouldn't be effective against a whole slew of other types). Otherwise, it's actually quite similar to the table I made, aside from being not very effective against Light, and the lack of grass weakness.

You were the one who pointed it out to me!
What I meant by what I put up, was I had a little chart somewhere in the rule thread or something that listed weaknesses and resistance, even double weaknesses like a ghost/dark would feel x4 against light
Eh, dragons are mythical, light is sacred maybe?

True. XD
Might wanna try and keep it brief, if we went for every single combination, the chart would be HUGE. XD
I dunno, there's many types of dragons, some good, some evil, etc... You get the picture.

It wasn't a full list... it featured a link to a Serebii type chart with the different combination, and the light-type stuff was in a post
So? There have been good demon and normally creatures that are normally evil (like say a vampire that has a soul, etc) and they are still vulnerable to light

Ah, I see.
And... Hmm. Good point. Still, mythological or not, dragons aren't exactly adverse to light in general - heck, in Pokemon, they're resistant to fire, and by that logic, it wouldn't make sense for light to be super-effective against them.

Doesn't make any sense that Light is weak to grass either (though grass being resistant to light makes sense... ironic since light comes from fire, and grass is weak against it)
Anyway Cande, while good job for putting up the chart, but as Nine said, you aren't a staff member (no offense) and the rules of the light-type has already been stated

Okay, I thought I said Light isn't weak against Grass...I mean offensively. I meant that light attacks are not affective against grass types
