DATS: Party Getting Crazy

Christa stepped into the training room, with a look of determination on her face. She activated the Digital Field, adjusted the settings, and stepped into the other chamber.


"Wait! Christa! There's gotta be a better way to do this!" Rina flew in, panicing. "You don't know how powerful he might-"


"How powerful I might what?" The Tall Man suddenly appeared a few metres away, standing perfectly still, his voice echoing through the pair's minds.


"Eep."


"Christa, what are you..." He rushed into the room, and stopped. He could see the Tall Man.


"WHAT THE (BEEP) IS THAT THING?!"


He was at the door, his jaw dropping. "That thing was in her head?!"


They just gawked.


"Alright, Kote, let's do this sh-HOLY CRAP!"


"So, we're up against a horror flick villain? SWEET!"


"Chika, can you NOT be so eager about it?!"


"This was the only place I could do this. My hallucinations occur in the Digital Worlds... And Pokearth, of course. But here..."


"But here... Interesting. I am now physical. Only here, you can hurt me. But I can hurt you, as well."


"I know. But if it means banishing these hallucinations, and YOU... I'll take that risk."

"Ooh, are they gonna play?" Kote hummed, as he watched the impending scene. "That's cool! Should we join in?"

Just then, a small sliver of darkness suddenly crept under the main computer, and electricity sparked from it. Before the group would know it, the door slammed shut, trapping Christa and Rina within the chamber.

"...um... is it supposed to do that?"

Yosuke rushed towards the chamber, but then the door shut. "Wha... WHAT THE HELL?!"


She tried to work the computer, to no avail. "I can't get it to respond! Something is locking us out!"


"Then... They're alone inside that thing! Oh, no!"


"Then... We gotta let them handle this alone."


He looked at Kote, groaning. "I dunno about that..."


She ignored the locked door, and stared intently at her inner demon. "I've had enough of this crap. I'm not gonna let you use me as a tool for your own ends. You almost forced out my Dark Digisoul!"


"You are mistaken. I would not bother with something so impure as Dark Digisoul. My intention..." He pointed at Rina, "Was to take her body as my own."


"WHAT?!"


She was silent for a moment. "You want to be my partner."


"Correct. I am far stronger than her. If you accept me... We can become even more powerful. We could possibly become powerful enough to challenge Missingno!"


She couldn't say a thing...


"My answer to that? Go (BEEP) yourself. Rina is my partner, and my friend. I wouldn't give her up for anything. You will never be my partner. And I am not. Afraid. Of. You."


Her eyes began to water with happiness. "Christa... Thank you..." She faced the demon, with a renewed determination. "Yeah! Christa and I are PARTNERS! Always have, always will be!"


He was silent for several seconds. "Fine. Then I will take her body by force. Prepare yourself."

Before any sort of battle could commence, all of a sudden, a dark whirlpool appeared behind the Tall Man.

"You wish to become stronger through such bonds?" a dark voice chuckled, as a silhouette emerged from the whirlpool. "Please. What makes you think you'll be capable of even challenging that glitch? There is only one creature who can rival Missingno..."

"You disgusting creature...! You have no place here!" The Tall Man roared, as he leapt up, and tried to drive the 'blunt' end of his weapon into Mephistomon's skull.

"Waspmon!" She took to the air, and aimed her cannon at the demon. "BEAR BUSTER!"

Suddenly, Chika managed to unlock the door leading into the chamber... Using the manual failsafe. "Sheesh, good thing the people who made this chamber had enough common sense to put in a failsafe in case this sort of thing would happen. Help me get this open!"


"Uh... Right!" He tried to help Chika open the door. "Adachi-san! Alert everyone! We've got an evil Digimon in here!"


"Uh... Right! Kote, stay here and help them!" He ran off.


"Gah... Open, you stupid door!" He also tried to help force it open...

Grinning, Mephistomon countered the Tall Man's attack by simply grabbing him, before holding him so that he'd shield Mephistomon from Rina's blasts. "I may have no place here..." he chuckled, glaring at the Tall Man. "...but none of you do! All shall be lost to the dark!"

Then, after the Tall Man would have taken the blasts from Rina, dark energy gathered in Mephistomon's mouth, as he suddenly moved the Tall Man away. "BLACK REQUIEM!!!" he yelled, firing bolts of darkness right at Rina.

"...everyone, hang on!" Kotemon suddenly called, running up to the group hammering on the door. "That guy plays dirty! If you go in there, he'll play with everyone!" he said, motioning towards the humans. "And you can't survive play-time! "We can see that! But we gotta let Christa and Rina out, or they're DEAD!" He tried his hardest to pull the door open...




"GRAH!" He tried to force himself out of the way of Rina's shots...

"...but you... you, the figment of a girl's fragile psyche, taken physical form by technology you barely comprehend... you have no right to claim that others do not have the right of existence; because YOU DO NOT ACTUALLY EXIST!!! BLACK REQIUEM!!!" Roaring, Mephistomon shot more dark bolts at Cabadathmon at point blank range.

He suddenly forced apart Mephistomon's fingers. "Even if I do not exist... I have a purpose!" He brought back his hand, and it glowed with a burning energy, before he forced it onto Mephistomon's face. "HAND OF THE KING!"

...and Mephistomon was no longer there; only a swirl of darkness that quickly vanished remained.

"He's on the loose. That's a big enough problem in itself. When we get back to the control room, we'll tell the others..."


"Another major enemy... And. More. Bad. News. THAT'S THE LAST THING WE NEED. On the bright side, we got at least one Shinka Point, so it's not a total loss."


She sighed, as she stepped back into the chamber...


And he slowly fizzled into existence again, his 'body' on the fritz. "I only wanted to make you strong."


"I know. But that's something I have to do myself... With my partner by my side."


"Heh..."


He nodded, and split into pieces, which were absorbed into Christa, more of a symbolic thing than anything else.


"So, I assume..." She changed back...


"No more hallucinations?" Nanami smiled softly.


She nodded. "I think I understand now. That portal scrambled my brain, and the 'problem' manifested as... Him. I think the hallucinations are gonna go away..." She pinched herself...


"Ow!"


"And you keep the mind link with Rina! Also, character development!"


"Well, that is good news, at least!" He remarked, having devolved.


"I know, right? Speaking of getting stronger... We never finished that training scenario."


"Let's just report back to the others, THEN we can get back to training."


"Good idea!"

And they left the room, to tell the others of what happened...
