Well, it was easy to lose a couple of people Rika rather no hang with. Granted, she rather stick around with Davis and Ken than be with any of the Data-Squad, but that's only if she was stuck with a choice. But anywho, it was easy to lose someone in a vast field...
When you're riding on a large fox that can camouflage anywhere. "I think we're far enough from them."
"Good," she uttered as Kyuubumon stopped running. As of now, they were right in the middle of nowhere, west of Pallet Town. But that's good, for she'll have some piece and quiet to begin her training.
Funny...this was starting to remind her of her first days as a Tamer. Everyday, she would fight Digimon just to train Renamon. That was only because she didn't know Digimon truly Digivolve. Plus, all that friendship stuff, and all. Here, she could very well act...somewhat like her Digimon Queen ways...somewhat...
Sure Rika was always the competitive girl, but becoming a trainer wasn't because of the competition. With DATS setting a branch in their world, Rika wanted to get away from it. She was afraid they would start some draft thing, like they tried with Marcus' sister. Rika wanted nothing to do with them, and she wouldn't let them even if they had hundred of Burst mode Digimon on her tail.
"Okay..." taking out her Poké-Ball, Rika pressed the button which popped it open and shooting out a beam of energy to the grassy floor.
That energy formed into a small humanoid creature, which was a chibi version of a Lucario, Riolu. "Lu?" Looking at her new trainer, she pretty much guessed she wasn't the carefree type. This was going to be quite a ride...
Smirking, Rika knelt down at the timid little one. "Nice to meet you. The name's Rika, your new trainer." Nodding her head toward the Digimon behind Riolu, "That there is Renamon."
Turning around, she felt like a giganta was standing before her. A rather intimidating giganta, that is... <You a Pokemon?>
"Hardly..."
Yeah, she can a timid one in this one. She wondered if her last trainer ditched her because of this. Well, she's going to have to change her attitude to make her last trainer jealous...if they run into that trainer. "Listen up. Now you're with me, it's not gonna be fun and games. I bring a lot of tough love, so you're gonna have to deal with it, if you wanna be the best you can be."
Standing up, Rika pointed at Renamon. "So training starts now, if the first step is you spar with Renamon."
"?!?" Looking up at the vulpine with fear in her eyes, she just imagined herself being smashed into a bloody pulp by this...thing...
"Hmph," already, Renamon took a readied stance. "Any objections? Don't worry," A rather mischievous glint crossed her eyes. "I'll go easy on you."
"..." She doubt that'll make a difference.
In a thread, you can only do three things; fight and catch Pokemon, battle trainers, and train your Pokemon. When you train Pokemon in either way, they grow a level. That would mean you also wasted a turn you have to stay in a thread.
POW!!! Once again, Riolu slid through the ground; leaving a ditch across it.
"Yeesh..." Even she felt that one.
Relaxing her paw, "I said I was taking it easy."
"Eh, roughing her will do her good. Alright, get up, Ria." she barked, now calling her Ria.
Trembling back up, <Yeah...that's right...you stay down...> She looked rather dazed.
Sighing at the condition her Pokemon was in, Rika walked over to her while reading her handbook.
Each trainer always starts out with the following.
Bag: 5x Poké-Balls/ 3x Potions / 2x Full Heal / 1x Revive / Town Map
Their ID cards act as credit card. Every Pokemon you defeat, you earn money, 10 times their level. Right now, you start with 1000 yen.
"Here, drink this," she sighed, handing Ria a Potion bottle.
Beaming, the Riolu drunk it like a bottle. Her wounds magically healing.
"Like I was expecting you to beat Renamon anyways." Snorting proudly, "Like that was possible for anyone. But getting pounded to pulp always smacks some sense into people...well some people...Now lets-"
FLASH!!!
Suddenly, Riolu's body gave of a yellow flash of light.
Rika flinched away; startled by the burst. "What...did she...what did you do?"
Slouching down, timidly, afraid she scared Rika, "Ri...luo, Rio..."
"She believes she leveled up." Renamon translated.
"Oh...sheesh, do Pokemon have to do it so flashy?"
Ria leveled to Level 6. Learned Counter
Riolu
Power: 6 (+2) = 8
Defense: 6 (+1) =7
Speed: 6 (+2) = 8
Mental: 3 (+1) = 4
Sp Def: 5 (+1) = 6
HP: 20 -> 21
(I decided that every level, EVERY stat raises by 1. You get an extra 2 point, and so whatever you want with it.)
